There are very few songs that are known by the masses more than an old gospel song, How Great Thou Art.
We have heard it sung by many people over the years, but now we feel that we have heard the best.
It happened when the Academy of Country Music Elder 2011 event, ‘Girls’ Night Out: Superstar Women of
Country. Essentially, it was an entire evening that was dedicated to honoring female country music artists who have affected the industry in a positive way.

There were many who were highlighted that evening but one particu lar performance took things over the top.
It was when Vince Gill joined Carrie Underwood on the stage to perform a rendition of the hymn, How Great
Their Art.
During the song, you could tell that they were full of emotion and the audience was undoubtedly blown away
by the intensity of the music. When the performance finished, however, the standing ovation was quick to
come and you could tell that the audience was moved by what they just heard.
It’s amazing that this performance was over a decade ago, but it is still one of the country music moments that
people remember from the heart. It was part of the Girls Night Out event, which recognizes the contributions
of female artists who sing country music.

Some of those who were honored that evening include Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride,
Jennifer Nettles, and Carrie Underwood. Regardless of who it was, they have all had an impact on that genre
that continues to be felt today.
This is a song that must be seen and heard to truly be appreciated. You can hear it foryourself in the following
