As Bruno introduces their duet, his vast crowd can be heard screaming like Beatlemania never went out of fashion, while the spotlight shines on Bruno’s dreamy first verse. Gaga fans won’t be shocked by how natural this “Die With A Smile” performance is, however. Bruno (aged 39) had invited the 38-year-old Manhattan superstar to collab on the half-written hit, but once Gaga reached the studio, they finished the song off in a day; recording and all — their story and Vegas performance testament to two of the most successful and established singer-songwriters on the pop scene today.
“Die With A Smile” reached #1 in 20 countries worldwide, #2 in the UK, and #3 on the US Billboard Hot 100, while the official music video passed 253M views in only two months. Fans have agreed that “this song HAS to win all the Grammys it is nominated for,” being blown away by how spectacular this live version is compared to the studio version, with viewers calling the retro-styled hit “a modern classic” and “the best collaboration of the year,” which is allegedly “saving this generation’s music.”
