Everyone knows that Chris Stapleton is talented – after all, he is one of the biggest stars of modern country in the world right now. What you may not have realized, however, is that his wife Morgane is equally as talented, something she proved when she took to the stage with her husband on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert earlier this year. Showing off her elegant style and angelic vocals, fans couldn’t believe that Morgane was as talented as her husband when it came to singing!
Performing the track ‘What Am I Gonna Do’, Chris and Morgane looked the absolute picture of a perfect couple up onstage, harmonizing beautifully together and gazing fondly at each other from across the stage. “The couple’s obvious sheer unabounding love for each other shines through every song” commented one of the video’s hundreds of thousands of viewers, while others also rushed to praise Morgane’s confident stage presence and the chemistry she so clearly shares with her husband onstage.
For those Music Man readers out there who aren’t familiar with the star couple and their history, the pair met in the early 2000s when they were working in adjacent publishing houses. They were married in 2007, have five children, and currently reside in Nashville. Alongside working on her husband’s material and touring as part of his band, Morgane is also a singer-songwriter herself, having previously written material that has been recorded by the likes of Carrie Underwood and LeAnn Rimes.
For further proof of the couple’s beautiful onstage chemistry, meanwhile, we highly recommend this video from 2022, which shows them performing the track ‘Where Rainbows Never Die’ at Farm Aid. Chris starts off the song alone, strumming a melancholy tune on his acoustic guitar and delivering some of his much-loved country-style vocals before Morgane joins in with some celestial harmonies that really take the performance up a notch.
Here at the Music Man, there’s nothing we love more than musical power couples, and few current musicians embody this description better than Chris and Morgane Stapleton. As that particular comment read on the video of the pair performing together on The Late Show a few months back, they clearly love each other dearly, and as such, it’s always a joy and a pleasure to hear them singing and performing together.
