UFC fighter admits she is ‘on strong meds’ and felt like she ‘was dying’ after opponent elbowed her in ‘anus’

A UFC fighter has explained her unique injury after being elbowed on her ‘anus’ which has left her unable to sit without a cushion.

Luana Pinheiro described her agony after her last fight, which took place on November 9 against Gillian Robertson.

According to the strawweight, she is still recovering from an injury made to her ‘anus’ and she has hit out at her opponent for being ‘disrespectful’ whilst in the ring.

The Brazilian went on to lose the fight at UFC Vegas 100 by unanimous decision and actually limped out of the octagon due to her buttocks issue.

It was when she had several 12-6 elbows landing on her that it all went wrong.

The thing with these elbow moves is that they were actually illegal up until recently, and it was made all the worse when most of them landed on her butt, with one being thrown directly to her anus.

Pinheiro shared how they happed at the end of the first-round and one landed after the bell had rung.

A shocking move by Robertson.

Since that day, the 31-year-old is still feeling the effects and cannot sit down without padding, even weeks later.

She shared during a recent interview with Ag.Fight: “I definitely felt it there. Excuse my language, but she elbowed my anus.

“To me, that’s disrespectful. I’d never do that to another athlete. She’s a woman fighting there, you know? I’m there because she’s there, we’re chasing the same dream.”

She added: “So, it’s only fair to respect your opponent. I think that was really disrespectful on her part. It’s not a move to submit or knock me out, it’s not like that. In my view she did it maliciously, with bad intentions. Not just during the round, but after the bell she did it again.”

According to the fighter, the fight left her needing medication, for which she is only just finishing up.

She said: “I’m on strong meds. Today’s the last day I’ll take them.”

Explaining the ways in which her injury has affected her health, she explained: “I can’t sit without a cushion or bend my back. I can’t exert much force because I feel it there. At first, I couldn’t walk, cough, or laugh properly. Sneezing was agony, I felt like I was dying, you know?

“It wasn’t the heat of the moment. She knew where she was hitting, you know?”

In an Instagram post she created just after her fight with Robertson, she wrote about how God works in ways that are meant to happen.

The fighter said: “If that was your will, my God, even without understanding, I accept and trust!

“Thank you for life and for living it the way I always dreamed of. The martial art was the path that I chose for my personal evolution. So I accept and thank you with open arms.

“Thank you very much to each of you all the support! I’m so blessed to have so many amazing people who cheer for me.”
