Teen Sensation Jaukeem Fortson Moves Reba to Tears and Has the Coaches Grooving with His Electrifying Rendition of Michael Jackson’s ‘Man in the Mirror’ on ‘The Voice’

Posted on November 30, 2024

Jaukeem Fortson took The Voice viewers and coaches by storm when he belted Adele’s “Easy On Me.” Displaying talent and poise beyond his 14 years, the small-town Georgia native scored chair turns from Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, and Reba McEntire. Initially joining Team Reba, Jaukeem gained new life in The Voice when Bublé scooped him up after he lost to Adam Bohanan in the Knockout Rounds. And this performance of Michael Jackson’s ‘Man in the Mirror” may just make him the youngest-ever champion in The Voice’s 13-year history.

Watch Jaukeem Fortson “Unleash the Beast”

In a preview of Tuesday’s (Nov. 26) Playoffs episode of The Voice, Jaukeem Fortson had the coaches grooving in their big red chairs as he made Michael Jackson’s 1987 hit “Man in the Mirror” entirely his own.

If you wanna make the world a better place / Take a look at yourself and make a change, the teen crooned.

Following his performance, Jaukeem had an emotional exchange with former The Voice coach Reba McEntire. “I’m so proud of you,” declared the “Fancy” singer tearfully. “You put your heart and your soul into your singing… I love you with all my heart.”

“I love you, too,” Jaukeem replied.

Gwen Stefani gushed, “This is the first time that I’ve seen you unleash the beast. Your body language has grown so much in a couple weeks. It’s unbelievable.”

Snoop also commended Jaukeem’s performance, saying, “You made it yours, you had a good time. I even seen you catch the holy spirit.”

Then it was coach Michael Bublé’s turn. “You have the ability, at 14 years old, to execute,” the “Feeling Good” hitmaker said. “The way you sang the song, the way you chose the notes… you just filled this whole place up with love.”

Getting Down to the Wire on ‘The Voice’

Tensions are rising as the Playoffs Rounds continue on season 26 of The Voice. Each coach can send just two artists to the Live Shows, where the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. This time, America gets to weigh in, voting to save their favorite artists.
